Packaging Instructions
Proper packaging helps support safe handling and reduced damage risk during international transport. Please follow these guidelines when arranging for items to be sent to us for processing or when preparing packages linked to your Send Air Global orders.
1. General Packaging Guidelines
All packages sent to Send Air Global for processing or associated with our services should be packed securely to withstand normal international handling and transport. Insufficient packaging increases the risk of damage, delay, or refusal.
- Use strong, corrugated cardboard boxes (ECT-32 or higher).
- Seal all openings using quality packing tape (2-inch or 3-inch).
- Ensure items inside do not move around when the box is gently shaken.
- Use appropriate cushioning for fragile or sensitive items.
- Avoid both overfilling and underfilling boxes, as both can cause damage.
If a package arrives poorly packed, we may need to add extra protection or adjust the packaging for safety. In such cases, additional packing service fees may apply where you have agreed to them.
2. How to Prepare Items Before Shipping
2.1 Remove unnecessary retail packaging (optional)
For lower volumetric weight and better internal protection, you may remove unnecessary outer retail packaging (e.g., very large boxes for small items). However, you should keep:
- Brand labels
- Safety seals
- Model/serial numbers
- Nutritional or ingredient details (for supplements)
2.2 Use bubble wrap properly
- Wrap fragile items individually with at least 2–3 layers.
- Place wrapped items in the center of the box, away from edges.
- Avoid using crumpled paper alone for highly fragile products.
2.3 Seal containers and bottles tightly
- Tighten caps for liquids, supplements, and cosmetics.
- Place each bottle inside a zip-lock bag to contain leaks.
- Use padding so bottles do not collide or move inside the box.
3. Electronics & Battery Items
Electronics require careful packaging because of airline, carrier, and customs rules.
- Pack electronics separately from liquids and very heavy items.
- Use rigid boxes — do not send electronics in soft or flexible packaging.
- Laptops, tablets, and phones should:
- Be wrapped with multiple layers of bubble wrap
- Be placed inside a padded inner box where possible
- Be surrounded with shock-absorbing material on all sides
- No exposed batteries — they must be inside the device or original appropriate packaging.
- Power banks and loose batteries may require special handling; please confirm with us before including them.
4. Liquids, Creams & Cosmetics
These items are sensitive and should be packed with extra care.
- Place every liquid product inside a zip-lock bag.
- Wrap each bottle individually to reduce the chance of breakage.
- Do not pack liquids in the same box as sensitive electronics.
- Double-check caps and seals to help prevent leakage.
- Use thick bubble wrap or air cushions for glass bottles and jars.
5. Clothing, Soft Goods & Accessories
- Fold clothes neatly to reduce unnecessary volume.
- Place soft items in poly mailers or appropriately sized boxes.
- Avoid mixing very heavy items with lightweight fabrics in the same package.
- Shoes should be wrapped or boxed to prevent crushing or deformation.
6. Books, Documents & Printed Material
- Use rigid cardboard backing or boxes to prevent bending.
- Stack books flat rather than upright to avoid spine damage.
- Heavier books should be divided into multiple smaller packages if needed.
7. Box Size & Weight Recommendations
For international transport, using appropriate box sizes helps prevent damage and control volumetric weight.
- Small Boxes: 12×10×8 inches — Ideal for cosmetics, supplements, or small electronics.
- Medium Boxes: 16×14×14 inches — Suitable for clothing, mixed items, or light electronics.
- Large Boxes: 20×20×15 inches — Should be used mainly for lightweight, bulky items.
Avoid oversized boxes unless necessary. Increased box size can significantly raise volumetric weight and cost.
8. How to Label Your Package
When sending packages to us for processing:
- Use the exact address details provided by Send Air Global for your order.
- Include your full name + customer reference code if applicable.
- Place the label on the top surface of the box where it is easy to scan.
- Ensure the label is clearly printed and easy to read.
- Do not include “Bangladesh” anywhere on the label unless specifically instructed.
9. Additional Packing & Adjustments
In some situations, our team may open, inspect, and adjust packaging to improve protection and minimize unnecessary volume, in line with our safety and handling practices.
- Additional packing can help reduce the risk of damage during transport.
- Where appropriate, we may combine items into fewer packages to simplify handling.
- We may remove unnecessary outer packaging to reduce space and weight.
- Additional service fees may apply for significant packing adjustments, subject to your agreement.
10. Items Requiring Special Handling
Some items require extra care and may need additional packaging or may be restricted:
- Perfumes, aerosols, and pressurized cans
- Large electronics (monitors, desktop PCs, speakers)
- Fragile glass or ceramic pieces
- Oversized or unusually shaped products
- High-value items (watches, jewelry, etc.)
Please contact us before including these types of items so we can confirm whether they are acceptable and if any special packaging or documentation is required.
11. Items We Cannot Accept
Some items cannot be accepted due to airline, customs, or safety laws. Please refer to the full Prohibited & Restricted Items List.
